I hav...what was the name of the other publisher ?

I have the first two tech journals, thankfully not ' lost in a box somewhere ' but I'm still looking for that lord of the rings booklet ( an insert with screen international ).
edhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13633073283427830809noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6024401572816020459.post-36564847536825150982016-03-01T07:57:17.398+00:002016-03-01T07:57:17.398+00:00West End actually churned out a large number of &q...West End actually churned out a large number of "reference works" devoted to the fictional expanded SW universe. In addition to the source books based on the core films, they also published hardback volumes devoted to the early 1990s novels and DH comics series.

They also did a long run of GALAXY GUIDES devoted to facets of the film series... planets, hardware and whatnot. Those are not to be confused with a similar series of guides from another publisher (which I found frustrating because they didn't credit where the 'whatever' had first appeared on screen or in print).

The Games books were, unsurprisingly, sold through games and hobby stores (and now defunct chains like Virgin Games) rather than through comic book stores (unless they dabbled in that market) or mainstream book stores.

The three STARLOG TECHNICAL JOURNALS (Tatooine, Empire, Rebellion), later reprinted in book form, tended to just interpret what was see on screen rather than expand the universe. I recently bought a new copy of the first issue and, once I get around to doing some more scanning, I'll post it here. I used to have all three but I think they are lost in a box somewhere.
