One of my stories, "Suited", was reprinted as a promotion with the Sun which meant it reached an especially large audience.KlownKrustyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02951875989078181671noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6024401572816020459.post-91776635284799399372016-05-23T13:09:17.224+01:002016-05-23T13:09:17.224+01:00it did strike me as unusual at the time that those...it did strike me as unusual at the time that those strips were not usa re-prints.

and yet in a kind of reversal , they were re-printed in the usa.

edhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13633073283427830809noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6024401572816020459.post-20229530410019196232016-05-23T13:05:21.819+01:002016-05-23T13:05:21.819+01:00slow, any chance of scanning those articles ?

I'd speculate, and this is only speculation, that they were pushing for more self-contained material* rather than serializing the Dark Horse reprints (*ironically, I think I was the only writer who started doing linked two-part stories in the format). Titan also repackaged the material in the US as well as selling it to Europe--I picked up a French reprint of one of my stories while honeymooning in Paris!--so I'd imagine there was some financial gain in originating the material, too.
KlownKrustyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02951875989078181671noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6024401572816020459.post-31329584121541814772016-05-23T08:01:26.852+01:002016-05-23T08:01:26.852+01:00Hi Ed,

They are the main reason I kept my copies all this time. Good job.

I also had no idea that Titan had originated any STAR WARS strips in the UK. Was there a shortage of US strips appropriate for the audience? Or did they just fancy making their own contribution to the saga?
