1980: THE SCIENCE FICTIONARY

I picked-up a copy of this book in a second-hand bookshop in Charing Cross Road yesterday afternoon.  It's a fairly rare find and doesn't often resurface 30-odd years later.

Published by Wideview Books in 1980, Ed Naha's book in an A-Z romp through SF Film and TV, divided into the relevant sections.  It's not entirely comprehensive but the brief summaries and critical comment do the trick.

Some of Naha's comments are a little odd, describing BATTLE OF THE PLANETS as "excessively violent" and inexplicably claiming notorious Filmation Saturday morning live-action mock-buster SPACE ACADEMY boasted "exceptionally fine special effects work".

Note the Titan Books price label... a stonking £6.99 in 1980!  Compare that to the 14p that Tharg charged for 2000AD the same year.
