1983: DOCTOR WHO SPECIALS COVER GALLERY - PART FIVE (Marvel UK)

The DOCTOR WHO SUMMER SPECIAL 1983 returned to the previous policy of comic strip reprints from the Marvel UK vaults with a corking volume of reprints headlined (behind a new - and slightly misleading - cover) by (the first of several) repeat performances of the undeniably classic Abslom Daak: Dalek Killer (from Steve's Moore and Dillon).

The Cyber-tastic Junk Yard Demon (by Steve Parkhouse, Mike McMahon and Adolfo Buylla) also received another outing.

A new text story, Catalogue of Events (written by Alan Mckenzie and illustrated by Steve's Dillon and O'Leary), provided a wraparound story in an unnecessary attempt to explain away the out-of-continuity reprints.

The one-page Tim Quinn/ Dicky Howett gag strip The Next 20 Years conspicuously failed to predict that the show would be cancelled before the end of the decade but did predict a female Doctor by 1988.

The colour centre spread was devoted to Tegan and Nyssa.
