1995: 2000AD INCURS THE WRATH OF THE LUCASFILM LAWYERS.

From June 1995: More STAR WARS related legal action.  This time the Lucas legal guns were pointed at Tharg's Command Module and the galaxy's greatest comic.

The Mighty One Versus the Bearded One.

This time the Lucasfilm lawyers objected to the cover copy, related to the Rogue Trooper strip, which they felt was a triffle misleading.  I don't think this went any further but the Mighty One's green knuckles were well-and-truely rapped.

  1. My FP is currently being renovated which is wreaking merry hell with their magazine dept, at least they had the new comics out upstairs.

among this weeks offerings is a nice collection of EXCALIBUR which includes captain Britain tales from the uk MWOM.

Originally printed in black and white so its nice to see them here in colour.

also out today is the new CRIME SCENE which seems to have undergone a page reduction. I have the sneaking suspicion I missed the last issue as my shop is now placing it in the crime section instead of with the movie / tv mags.

COMMANDO has reached its 5000th issue and celebrates with a nice shiny cover. Hurrah !

  3. Oh dear. Poor CRIME SCENE. But not much of a shock to be honest. Maybe if they had struck a deal with WHS to get it racked near the crime novels at the front of the store. I suspect crime readers were not frequent browsers of the SFTV shelf.
