I recently unearthed this little oddity from Jim Warren's back-catalogue of quickies: GALACTIC WARS COMIX from 1978.
It's a magazine-format anthology of SF short-stories but also contains a set report from BATTLESTAR GALACTICA's Gun on Ice Planet Zero, herein still known as The Ultimate Weapon, the second story (after Saga of a Star World aka Battlestar Galactica: The Movie) to go before the cameras.
It's the only contemporary set report that I've seen although why they felt the need to pad-out the article with stills from the old FLASH GORDON movie serials is slightly beyond me.
*really!
UPDATE: Since I first posted this, I've realised the Battlestar article also appeared in FAMOUS MONSTERS magazine issue 149. I've posted the cover here. Warren really had no shame!
Warren did a number of these one-off publications in the late '70s, attempting to cash-in on the popularity of productions like Star Wars, Close Encounters. Battlestar Galactica, Alien, etc. These mags were basically a combination of reprinted comics material from other Warren magazines like Creepy and Eerie, along with an article from Famous Monsters on whatever was current at the time.
