1996: WOLVERINE UNLEASHED Issue 1 (Marvel UK)

WOLVERINE UNLEASHED was the third of MARVEL UK's US-sized Collector's Edition titles, launched a year after THE ESSENTIAL X-MEN and THE ASTONISHING SPIDER-MAN.

By this point, the small print reveals that Marvel UK was a subsidiary of Panini and based in Panini House down in Tunbridge Wells.

Although it's been rebooted several times, this is essentially the same comic which still appears every four weeks today which means it's been published continuously for nearly eighteen years.

It's not clear from this scan but the front of the wrap-around cover is enhanced (well, this was the 1990s) with reflective silver 'foil' on the glass shards.
