The only one I remember is Aegypta because (I think) an issue of The Micronauts was set there - it sounded corny even then. Aegypta, Tropica, Polaria.....couldn't they think of something original ?
Um... All the names you've quoted ARE original.
I meant that they are taken from obvious Earth names like Egypt, the Tropics and the Poles.
In a comic book aimed at pre-teen boys and based on a toy line, I think the reader can be expected to indulge some artistic license on these things--in so much as the Micronauts' language had presumably been translated into English for the reader, including the names and terms which would likely be unpronounceable otherwise. Why not make them memorable and easy to comprehend?Having a place called Aegypta sits well in a toy line which featured a pharaoh-style mask turned into a "space capsule"...http://micronauts.wikia.com/wiki/Pharoid
OK, OK, I get it - that's me suitably told off !
