The SILVER SURFER, despite his longevity, never struck me as someone who could anchor his own title in the UK (but came close as the star of SUPERHEROES in the Seventies) but the British Bullpen still rolled out this rather nice Winter 1982 one-shot.
The main strip hailed from the 1982 one-shot by Lee, Byrne and Palmer.

RIP BRIAN CLEMENS
ReplyDeletesurely the english equivalent of glen larson..?
Hmm... Yes.
DeleteI'm not sure I would make that comparison. Possibly, if anyone, I would compare him with the late Stephen J. Cannell, a producer able to make a quality product that tickled the fancy of the punters.
Funnily enough, I rewatched CAPTAIN KRONOS only a fortnight ago.
And... I have to say... THE WATCHER IN THE WOODS first freaked me out when BBC ONE aired it one Bank Holiday way-back-when and, having watched it again, just before Christmas, I can confirm it's still a creepy little treat!
Deleteespecially creepy is the scene where bette davis seems to be pushing the kid underwater.....and captain kronos is an offbeat one of a kind gem but its rarely shown these days
ReplyDeletethere's no doubting the contribution clemens made to uk telefantasy
