Ed, Gareth Thomas was also in "Children Of The Stones" from early 1977 - the whole series is on YouTube and last year I watched it for the first time since the original broadcast. I agree that Blake's 7 wasn't the same after Blake left and the series should have finished at the end of Season 3 - by Season 4 Blake, Jenna, Gan, Cally and even the Liberator were gone.
CHILDREN OF THE STONES is indeed an excellent watch. It has been released on DVD. There was also a BBC RADIO documentary about it which might still be floating around cyberspace somewhere.
still gutted about Gareth Thomas. End of an era and all that. BLAKES 7 was never the same after he left.
ReplyDeleteThe new issue of COMIC HEROES has a fascinating article on ACTION, the late 70's comic.
Its amazing how such a graphically violent comic ever made it to the shelves.
also very amusing to see how boys comics were still referred to then as ' papers '.

ReplyDeletedon't think I've ever seen children of the stones, must check it out.
ReplyDeleteYes it was pointless to keep calling it Blake's 7 when Blake himself was no longer in the show.
